Being a coach, especially for the first time but even after years and years, means trying to get better at your job, just like your athletes are trying to improve. After each practice ask yourself, what worked, what didn't? What do my players need from me? What am I trying to get out of my players? There is always a way to get better.

In a team, consistency is hard because you have to rely on a bunch of individuals coming together to pull out a great final product. When one player falters does it ruin the whole team dynamic or can they band together to pull everyone up?
What I want to know is why the parents sign their kids up for these coaches. I have nothing against coaches who can be gruff or push the kids hard, sometimes that's what a team really needs, but these coaches take it way past reasonable! Do parents think this is the way to athletic stardom?
